The Canning Recipes: Sweet Tea Concentrate
This easy canned sweet tea concentrate lets you have fresh iced tea ready in seconds all year long. Just add water and ice!
Ingredients (per quart jar)
- 2 cups sugar
- 10–12 black tea bags (Lipton or your favorite)
- Hot water
Instructions
- Add Sugar and Tea Place 2 cups sugar and 10–12 tea bags into each clean quart jar.
- Fill with Hot Water Fill the jar with hot water to dissolve the sugar. Stir gently if needed. Cover and let steep for 20 minutes.
- Complete the Jar Remove the tea bags. Fill the rest of the jar with hot water, leaving 1-inch headspace.
- Process Wipe rims clean and apply lids and bands fingertip tight. Process in a boiling water canner for 10 minutes (adjust for altitude).
- Cool and Store Cool jars undisturbed for 12–24 hours. Check seals, label, and store in a cool, dark place.
To Serve:
Pour concentrate into a gallon jug and fill with cold water. Add ice and enjoy!
This concentrate is easily adjustable by changing the amount of sugar or tea bags to suit your taste. A refreshing pantry staple for hot days!
