These freezer biscuits are a total game-changer for busy mornings! Make a batch ahead of time, freeze them, and bake straight from frozen whenever you want warm, fluffy biscuits. They taste just as good as fresh-made and are perfect for breakfast, dinner, or with a big bowl of soup.
Yield: 8–10 biscuits
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ⅓ cup cold butter, grated
- 1 cup milk
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the grated cold butter and mix until the dough starts to form small pebble-like pieces.
- Pour in the milk and stir until the dough just pulls away from the sides of the bowl (do not overmix).
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll to your desired thickness (thicker for tall biscuits, thinner for more biscuits).
- Cut out biscuits with a cutter or glass.
- Place the cut biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until solid (about 1–2 hours).
- Transfer the frozen biscuits to a freezer bag, label with the date, and store in the freezer.
To Bake from Frozen:
Preheat oven to 425°F. Place frozen biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 16–18 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
These biscuits rise beautifully and have that tender, flaky texture we all love. Great to keep on hand for quick meals or unexpected guests!
