A small, useful item that is easy to make and perfect for storing keys, jewelry, or other everyday essentials.
Materials
- Cork stoppers
- White glue
- Blender or food processor
- Knife
- Bowl
- Spoon or spatula
- Oval mold
- Parchment paper
- Rolling pin (if needed)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Corks
Cut the cork stoppers into small slices or pieces to make them easier to blend.
2. Grind the Cork
Place the pieces in a blender or food processor and grind them into small granules. The texture should be coarse, similar to breadcrumbs.
3. Add the Glue
Transfer the ground cork into a bowl. Gradually add the white glue, mixing until you obtain a soft mixture that holds together well.
4. Shape the Trinket Tray
Line the mold with parchment paper. Spread the cork mixture across the bottom, then gently press it up along the sides to create the shape of the tray. Firmly compact the mixture using the back of a spoon.
5. Let It Dry
Allow the tray to dry at room temperature for at least 24 hours. The longer it dries, the more stable its shape will become.
6. Remove from the Mold
Carefully remove the trinket tray from the mold. Peel away the parchment paper and make sure the entire piece is completely dry before using it.
Your homemade cork trinket tray is ready! Use it to keep your keys, jewelry, coins, and other small everyday items neatly organized.
